David Ritcey was the Youth Minister at First Baptist Church, Toccoa, Georgia from 2002-2010. On September 26, 2010, First Baptist Church called David to be its Senior Pastor. A native of Toccoa, Georgia, David was ordained into the ministry at First Baptist Church in 2003. Prior to the call to full-time ministry, David was a supervisor in retail sales for fifteen years.
David graduated from Stephens County High School in 1983. He attended Piedmont College from 1984-1987. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of Liberty University with a Multidisciplinary degree in Accounting, Music, and Religion. David received his Master of Arts in Christian Leadership from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary in 2010 with a Magna Cum Laude distinction.
David married Laura Kellar Ritcey in 1986. They are the proud parents of two sons, Justin and Michael. David loves to sing all types of Christian music. He loves sports, riding his Harley Davidson, and spending time with his family.
David’s passion is to share the good news of Jesus Christ as 1 Peter 3:15 says: “Always be prepared to give the reason for the hope that we have.” David strives to do this by reaching people through relational evangelism. David possesses a vision, passion, and a strong desire to grow God’s Kingdom and bring spiritual growth to Toccoa First Baptist.
David’s passion for the mission of the church is demonstrated in his success as youth minister at First Baptist Church and in his connection to all age groups in the church and his enthusiastic ministry with all aspects of church and pastoral life. David strives to equip his congregation with the skills and knowledge to lead productive and effective spiritual lives, thus making First Baptist Church, Toccoa, Georgia God’s tool for evangelism in the community and throughout the world through missions.
Youth Pastor/Associate Pastor
Brett grew up in Toccoa, GA and graduated from Stephens County High School in 2003. Brett went on to attend North Georgia College and State University and upon graduation he went on to complete a Master of Divinity program at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Brett and his wife Katherine, also a native of Toccoa, have been married since 2007 and have two children, Jacob and Ressie.
Brett's mission statement is this, “I want to live a life where I am daily dying to the world and constantly living in light of what Christ has done for me, by foremost leading my family closer to God, and then discipling friends that God has placed in my life, so others who don’t know Christ will see Him through me.”
