SUNDAY SCHOOL

9:45am Every Sunday

Pre-K Sunday School Class – Room 126
Nursery Ages 0-3 – Room 125

Katie Hale and Laura Whitworth teach the pre-k and kindergarten class. They have a bible story and activity and the nursery class joins them for music with Kay Cox. They have a fun time as laughter and singing fill the hall every Sunday morning!

1st-3rd grade Sunday School class – Room 220

This class features a similar lesson with the 4th-5th grade class, and they break apart for more age specific activities. Students have a wonderful time of fun while learning the books of the bible, memory verses, and all the great stories of the scriptures. Taught by Philip Hunt

4th-5th grade Sunday School class – Room 222

Being a part of Sunday school can bring pre-teens much joy growing up.  In our 4th and 5th grade classes we teach them about the bible, how to respect others, and what it looks like to have a relationship with Jesus. Students have the opportunity to ask questions and explore ideas through meaningful discussions, games, lessons and group activities.  Our curriculum offers a broad foundation, so children will understand how all the parts of Scripture point to Christ. Taught by the Webb Family

Ignite Youth Sunday School
Youth Room beside the Bridge

Here at Ignite Student Ministry we are all about discipleship and our Sunday School hour is no different. We work through the Gospel Project Curriculum with the aim of teaching students the authority of scripture, showing it’s relevance in todays time, and having conversations about how we can apply it to our life. We start the hour with an activity for guys and girls before splitting up to focus in on the lesson in smaller groups. We would love to have your student join us!

C20 – Room 203

This is a group of adults in their 20’s. Most are either young professionals, or College aged students. This is where the C20 comes in. But, we aren’t limited by age, or where you work. We are all students of the Gospel, and seek to learn more so that we can draw closer to our Lord and Savior.

This group enjoys both video series from some of the greatest leaders of our time, or simply diving into the Word directly. Both lead to great discussions as we learn how Gods Word is as applicable to life in the days gone by, and to our lives today, and as we face our future as Christian Men and Women.

But more importantly, we grow deeper in our Faith in Christ together, as one body.

Wednesday Night Bunch

This group began from one student in the C20 class having questions of her Faith and things she was being told by others. We met for lunch, and discussed her concerns, which led to having others join us. Later, as we grew, we began meeting on Wednesday evenings at 8:00 at a local restaurant.

Then, Covid hit. The restaurant closed, and we found ourselves searching for a way to continue. In our time together as the Nation recovered, we began meeting at First Baptist at the same time on Wednesday evenings. In the time since we started, this group has gone from just the two people, to three, and grew as much as having 15 at some meetings. Many of this group have Church Homes elsewhere, but enjoy the gathering of friends and the life lessons learned together. In fact, at one point, of the 15, only 3 were members of First Baptist Church, and the mixture of other Church members continue to this day. We would love to have you join us as we seek Gods will for our lives, and those whom our Lord sends to us.

We love having new people join our class, and if you are interested we meet on Sunday mornings, at 9:45 in Room 210!

2 Men and a Bible Class – Room 204

This Sunday School class was started a number of years ago by Mark Ivester and Gary Butts as "2 men and a Bible" as a discussion-oriented Bible study and has grown over the years. The men in this group determine what study materials they will read and discuss from time to time, which materials may include simply studying more in depth the books of the Bible or Bible related and Christian related books and video programs on various Bible related subjects. Books have included such classics as Mere Christianity, The Screwtape Letters, The Logic of God, God, why this Evil?, The Baptist Faith and Message, and video studies such as Escape the Coming Night, an in depth study of Revelations by David Jeremiah.  The class depends on individual study of the materials and discussion during class time. There is no particular teacher in this class and the class is made up of men of various ages. Any man interested in digging deeper into the Christian faith is welcome to join!

The Vision Class – Room 206

The Vision Class is a class dedicated to serving God within the church and throughout our community.  The class is made up of couples and singles ranging in ages from mid-50s to 70s, however, ALL ages are welcome!

During our Sunday School hour, we study the Bible and its application to our lives through either video series, book studies or Sunday School quarterly material.

Vision class members are involved in a variety of ministries throughout our church and community in order to lead people to Christ and help others grow in their relationship with HIM.  Our class members truly care for one another and enjoy fellowshipping together. We love welcoming guests and new members to our class!!! Taught by Cliff Porter.
